Riu Cancun and Riu Palace 12/28/2005

These two hotels are actually 5 Star Hotels and I would highly recommend them if you are going to stay in Cancun and if you want a top quality hotel. The quality of the hotel--inside and out, rooms, hotel staff, swimming pools, and dining are above average. The Riu Palace Las Americas is a step above the Riu Cancun and is a little more expensive, but not by much. We stayed in the Riu Cancun in December of 2004 and the Riu Palace in December of 2005. There was no construction going on in either of these locations after the hurricane. They were fully operational after hurricane Wilma.
