04/04/06. Stayed at the Howard Johnson's on Curacao. We were looking for something right in town close to everything this trip, and it was the perfect place. The rooms were clean, really clean and the staff was most accommodating. The restaurant was okay for breakfast or lunch, nothing to brag about-reasonably priced. It was too dark and dreary and no view of anything. I would stay there again, because it was so convenient. Please be advised, that unless you have connections with a bank on the island - no one will cash a traveler's check, not even casinos or the hotel you are staying in!!! Peter Tours was the only one to cash a travelers check for me, aside from the Maduro bank. Love that island anyway!!
