LTI-La Costa Verde 01/19/01

We stayed at this resort Feb 2000.It had just opened in Nov 1999 so the landscaping was not complete but by now the trees and flowers should have taken hold. It was pretty when we were there.
It is a fairly quite and relaxed resort and is definately not for young swingers. We spent most of our time around the pool. It was more lively at the beach. There is a Breezes that was completed in 2000 and it shares the same beach. This will also liven it up.
The food was excellent at both the buffet and a la carte (2) restaurants. Mainly European type meals as opposed to American Cuisine. Bread was a problem, sometimes alright but sometimes stale. Definately not what you would expect from German management. The place was spotlessly clean. Drinks were excellent and they also had a very good ice cream and fruit bar. The staff was friendly and helpful and did not always have their hand out.
They tried to get the guests involved in games and activities but the crowd there at the time was kind of laid back. Mainly German and Canadian quests with some French and English.
The enterntainment was alright but not fabulous. The management of the hotel was excellent.
This hotel is excellent for an older couple or a couple with young children. Teenagers would not be happy. It's really not a singles resort or for anybody who wants high pace activity.
