Got back on the 25th. from the best holiday I've had in years. Having been to Antigua, Jamaica and Dominican Republic I know all islands are different and have their share of problems. Cuba has perhaps more difficulties than most, however.............
Remember you are on holiday and not in the UK, so the food will be good. (not excellent). The rooms and resort could do with a lick of paint, as it's now 14 years old. The beach is gorgeous, the water sports you can just walk up and sail, providing they've got the boats available and your pleasant. The drinks are great but in plastic cups in the external bars (so what!) The best bit is the people -they are so cheerful all over Cuba, it is unbelievable, by far the happiest anywhere I've been too. I had a ball, my wife didn't want to come home and my 10/11-year-old son thinks it's the best holiday he has ever had - including Florida! So if your going to the Tuxpan relax and you'll have a great time and give our regards to all at the animation team as they are superb.
Also, take the chance to get out – Havana is worth spending at least 1 day and you could easily do 4 or 5, the Jolly Roger day cruise is great fun and you visit some spectacular scenery, beaches and snorkeling and the Jungle Tour is great fun for all.
