6 of us were here in Feb. 2000 and all agree that we would be pleased to go back. We rated it 4 stars. Don't be concerned about the 1.5 hr. bus trip from the airport, great Volvo buses, great guide on board, beer is $1 US. The staff was very helpful, checkin and checkout were very quick and hassle-free. The rooms were clean and the beds comfortable. Water temperature was never a problem. The grounds were incredible and they were alwys working to improve them The bars were plentiful and service was excellent. The entertainment was not as consistent as what we have experienced in other Cuban resorts. The beach was gorgeous. Great for snorkelling. Food was plentiful and good but the a la carte restaurants (especially the Italian) should be visited and please try the Cuban red wine. A lot to do in the area. A moped visit to Guardalavaca (Watch the Cow) was fun. A special mention to the Eco-Tourism area just down the road from the resort ... amazing animals on display and an incredible restaurant for lunch ($10 US)! The local catamaran tour is a must ($70 US)
