Stayed there for 4 weeks in early 2000, 3 weeks in early 2001 and will spend 4 weeks there in early 2002. It is a great place to meet the locals who are unbelievably friendly and honest. No crime and you can feel perfectly safe in the surrounding rural area. Take the bus into Stgo de Cuba if you want a bit if nightlife, or stay at the resort and enjoy the relaxing and simple lifestyle of the locals. There is a tiny village, Sigua, nearby with an elementary school. If you go, take some used clothing for the people. They really need and will appreciate it. Adios --
