Villa Cuba 03/28/02
Reviewers Rating: Great
I just got back from a week vacation (march 16th to 24th) at Villa Cuba in Varadero. We were 5 so we had 2 rooms int the tower. At first we wanted a villa but were really glad we did not get it since most people we met, who were staying in one, were really disappointed. The rooms were really clean and the bathroom was uge. The hotel in general was nice. The beach was beautiful, blue water, white sand. The food: it was ok, I thought it was a little boring and repetitive. The service at the Cuban restaurant took forever, the Italian restaurant was ok but the international restaurant (Mariposa) was incredible. The service was really good and the food too. We all had the shrimp cocktail and the Caribbean combination (Giant shrimps and scalops) with was delicious. The music: everywhere we went, they had a little band playing live music that week, it was great. The disco was really quite. We went out twice: at the Havana Cafe and at the Havana Club. Both have a cover charge of 10$us but it's all you can drink. The drinks: The hotel offers several bar, pool, beach, lobby, 9th floor and the disco. Service was good everywhere. The 9th floor bar had the best Pina Colada! The lobby bar had a balcony over looking the pool which was great before dinner. Overall, we had a lot of fun and the staff was really friendly. We took the Varadero tour with the hotel and it was great. Our guide, Xavier, took us around and explain a lot of the culture. I would recommand this hotel to anybody from singles to family or a group of friends. Hasta la proxima! Marie-T Montreal, Canada marietheg@hotmail.com
