Hotel Villa Cuba 04/01/02
Reviewers Rating: Good
Just recently returned from 1 week at Hotel Villa Cuba. Upon arrival we were put in one of their "villas". The room we were given was small, with only one small window which held the air conditioner. We asked to stay in the main building and were told that we had only paid to stay in a villa. We were suprised at this statement since the travel brochure did not quote a variety of prices available. We were given a room in the main building for the extra cost of 70 dollars american. Our new room was very nice with a belcony and ocean view. It was well worth the extra cost. I would suggest that you check what room or "villa" you have been assigned. The food was acceptable, but nothing was really good. It was a pain to line up every morning to make a reservation for dinner at not very good restaurants. We did prefer the Mariposa restaurant. The food was acceptable and service very good. I brought snacks with me and found them handy for mid day snacks or light lunch. The beach was wonderful, as was the weather. We would probably return to Cuba, however I don't think I would choose this hotel. It certainly was not a 4 star hotel as stated in the brochure.
