I just returned from Barcelo Solymar, cuba yesterday..let me just say that the hotel was very very big and beautiful. The first thing we saw when we came in was a huge place with plants and lots of birds with big cages and alot of wonderful things. I went with my aunt, uncle, mom, dad, and brother..for a week.I am a 13yr old girl but please read and listen to me. Beach: The beach was crystal clear every single day there wasn't one day that it was dirty. The sand is a greyish white color and very clean. Everyday at the beach about 4 entertainers that work at barcelo solymar, come and play games with the people on the beach...like bocci, volleyball, soccer, dance ( the dances are soo much fun , u have to try them.) and etc. People: The people make cuba even better, they're lovable, soo nice, always there to listen to you. Get to know the entertainers the first day you're there, because i started gettin to knoe them like the 3rd day we were there and i only had a few days to really spend time with them..they're sooo nice and funny! I LOVE EM AND MISS EM!!. Every night at 10:00 pm there is a show that the entertainers hold and its so much fun..the get people to do funny things on stage and trust me go on stage it's super great. Barcelo solymar also has a couple of stores inside of the hotel, as well as a sauna, message room, computer room, and a disco which anyone can go to. The night we were there we went on a ride with a horse and carrage downtown..and there is alot to see there. The waiters and waitresses at restaurants are nice too but..if you give them a tip they'll be even nicer..my dad and uncle wld give a dollar each to every restaraunt we go to...usually like 2 dollars a day each. food: I've read reviews before i went to cuba about the food and alot of people complained about it..don;t worry because the food is so good, there is a variety or food even if you're picky. There isn't a big variety of fruits but there is some...like mango, papaya, banana, grape, watermelone, and grapefruit. I loved cuba , I wish we stayed at least another week..if u like do to alot of things then just stay at the beach i suggest to stay for 1 week. We didn't do that manythings because we loved the beach and had only a week, but my parents were mad that they didn't get the 2 weeks because they loved it as well. We didn't know what anything was like especially our hotel so we didn't want to go for 2 weeks, but the minute we stepped in the hotel we were like aww why didn't we go for two weeks...i'm telling you if you ave the money go for 2 weeks ...it's great!!!!
