cuba hotel & resort reviews

Rio De Luna Gaudavalca 11/18/02
Reviewers Rating: Excellent
Went to the hotel De Mares, three single women at the end of June beginning of July and had a fantastic time and would go back tomorrow the hotel is lovely, staff were really great they were very helpful and you did not feel pressurised in tipping them every five minutes and we got the same service all the time excellent. The first week the hotel was not full so we got pampered and looked after by the staff.

The beach is lovely, clean white and beautiful and if you go to the end of the beach near the hotel De Oro you can go snorkelling and see lots of big fish.

At the time we went the Hotel de Luna was closed but they moved the other restaurants so still had a choice of six restaurants. The buffet style restaurant you do not have to book, food was great and not spoilt for choice. The other restaurants you had to book which were ok when we were there as it was not full but the second week of our holiday we noticed it was harder to get a table. There are two on the beach, which were really nice in the evening one of them changes into the nightclub after the show has finished.

Swam with the dolphins, which I recommend one of the highlights of the holiday. Went to Santiago was a long way but if you donít get a chance to see Havana its good to see the Cuban people. One night went into Guadavalca to the nightclub there, it was really good just to watch the Cuban people dance and the guys just get you up and get you to dance with them. We did not feel threatened as there were not many tourists but the people are so friendly, one thing would recommend that if you need to get a taxi book them to pick you up to take you back to the hotel as it felt like you were in the middle of nowhere as there were not many people about.

There were not many English people as I think they went to the Las Brisas Hotel but to me itís the fun of a holiday meeting other nationalities and felt that this was a better choice of hotel. Hotel entertainment in the evening was good they put on various shows.

I cannot recommend Cuba enough the people are warm, friendly and I hope this does not change. If you like a lovely white beach and a quite and relaxing holiday then I would recommend this hotel you wont go wrong.

Linda
