Superclubs Puntarena 11/25/02

Well I have just had my two weeks hols in Cuba (4-19 Nov). After 3 nites in Havana (which was absolutely fantastic) we stayed at Superclubs Puntarena in Varadero. We were (4 girls) very disappointed with the Hotel. The beach was out of this world; I have never seen sea that colour ever - you couldn't knock it but the Hotel itself was less than average on food, hotel facilities and staff. Some - but only a handful, of the staff were fantastic, but the majority were rude, unhelpful and they made you feel like they didn't want to be there and that they were doing us a favouor by being there. The Hotel has a lot to learn about All Inclusive. Even though this was the 1st Ai I have ever done I think there's a lot more that could be provided, for example, evening entertainment, this was ridiculous - definately not funny. The food was OK I suppose for Buffet but the Chinese Restaurant was not very good, the Grill was OK. Half of the complex is closed (one of the Towers) and has been for 2 years! The pool was not very clean and we only saw once that is was being cleaned. Hence we only went there on our first and last day. We spent our days on the beautiful beach. I would go back to Cuba again in a few years when it has caught up with the rest of the Ai World but I wouldn't go back to this Hotel.
