Breezes Jibacoa 12/10/02
Reviewers Rating: Great
We spent the first week of December 2002 at Breezes. There are some great things about the resort and some not so great. On the positive side. -wonderful location with a outstanding mountain backdrop. -excellent snorkeling because of the coral reef. -very friendly staff. -close of Havana...we did not take the $51 usd official tour. instead we found a 'local' guide and driver...it cost $60 for the day and was wonderful...we saw things that tours would not cover...and were taken around in the 1955 Ford...great experience... -the room was very nice...(although hot water is not always available) -the entertainment was pretty typical of most resorts..but some of the dancers were very talented. -the scooter tours are alot of fun and the make sure you take the morning walk with Eric On the negative side.. -the food...the selection was probably of the worst of the 4 all inclusives I have visited in Cuba. and the biggest problem was keeping the food hot....too often the buffet items were stone cold.. there are a few things management could do to improve the buffet..but many people seemed to like it (I suspect they don't get out much).. even at the beach restaurant the burgers and chicken were cold. but if you get to dinner early, the food should be pretty fresh.... and we enjoyed our meals at the two a la carte restaurants... -the resort is isolated..but you should know that before you book. All in all, if the food had been better..I would give the resort a full 4 star..and would return (if just for the snorkeling)...but until the restaurant learns about keeping food hot and offering a better selection, I can only rate Breezes as 3 star plus..
