Sol Club Cayo Guillerimo 03/19/2003
Reviewers Rating: Excellent
We travelled with Air Canada Vacations. Our plane left Toronto International on time and the flight was great. We arrived at the new Cayo Coco Airport and were in and out of the terminal and onto the bus within ten minutes. We arrived at Sol Club Cayo Guillerimo 20 minutes later. Registration was quick and easy. In fact when the clerk discovered there was three of us in the room, he excused himself and made a phone call. Not understanding spanish, I didn't give it any thought at all, however, I discovered that he had called housekeeping and before we actually got to our room, he had made arrangement for housekeeping to bring an additional bed to our room! What a nice surprize. The first impression of the room was lovely. Very big! even with three beds in the room. The maid kept it neat and tidy ans made nice little animals out of the towels and blankets daily. The pool area was beautiful! There was always something going on around the pool. The landscaping and grounds were well kept, neat and clean. The beach was incrediable!.. crystal clear sparkling waters every shade of blue and green and white sand beach. the resort offered three bars and the bartenders were always very nice! They didn't expect a tip every time you asked for a drink, and were very thankful when offered one. The al la carte was great! and the service wonderful! The buffet restaurant was a very pleasant surprize not expecting the food to be anything to write home about, it was very good indeed! By far, the Beach Bar Grill was the Best. Burgers, Hotdogs, Pizza, Fries, Mexician food etc. If I could have eaten there three times a day, I would have! The animation team works long hours, and always have a happy face to share!. They put on a different evening show every night and found them quite entertaining to down right funny! My daughter and I took the Jungle Tour and had a great time... I would recommend this to anyone looking for a little something different that you would do at home. We also wnet horseback riding on the beach. The high light of the entire trip was the "Half Moon Island" snorkelling trip. If you do nothing else.. take this one... We saw a sunken Spanish Steam Ship on the Corel Reef. In all I would return to this resort in a heart beat!!
