My boyfriend and I went to Cayo Santa Maria on the week of August 9th. At this time, there is only one resort on this island, but two more are in construction. Hopefully, this cayo won't lose its charm (and quietness) with the opening of the new hotels...
What a great resort! I was there for a week only, and that's really sad because this place is like paradise! It is a 4-star resort with everything you need, it is affordable, the food is great, the staff is friendly, the ocean is breath-taking, I loved it! I am pretty sure everyone would have a great vacation there, except for the very picky traveller (the kind that is used to 5-star hotels and complains about details like the kind of trees they planted or the way the bed is made).
Everyone I talked to said they liked this resort very much! For my part, I'm not sure I would ever want to pay for a 5-star if I learn that more jewels like this place exist in the world.
