Las Brisa, Guardalavaca 11/28/2003
Reviewers Rating: Excellent
This is the worlds shortest review but I hope it gives a good outline of the resort.
Flight. Flew from Heathrow, took nearly 14 hours due to someone taking ill on the plane and having to turn back, also dropped passengers off at Varadero which added 2 hours onto the trip.
Room. Basic but acceptable. Fridge, TV, huge bed, decent bathroom, nice balcony, what more do you want. Was going to upgrade but we thought "what the hell, we're only gonna sleep here".
Food. Only part of holiday to moan about. Although it's quite edible it could sometimes be a bit bland, but you're in the caribbean and a different culture so you have to expect an entirely different selection of food.
Bars. Plenty to choose from, all serving cocktails, beer, coffee and soft drinks, mmmmm.
Pool/Beach. Pool was excellent, beach excellent although sea floor got rocky about 20 metres out.
Entertainment. Great, best live band I've ever seen, awesome drummer. Haloween show was great.
Staff. Overwhelmingly friendly and helpful.
Overall. One brilliant resort. I get a lump in my throat thinking about some of the Cubans I met when I was there, they certainly leave a lasting impression in your mind, one of happiness and friendliness. I now see why this resort gets so many returning guests.
I've missed out loads of stuff but like I said I just wanted to give a basic outline of the resort.
