I have just returned from Varadero where I stayed at the Iberostar Bella Costa with five of my girlfriends for two weeks. One of the most beautiful beaches and sand I have ever seen. The resort was very nice and the employees there we found to be friendly and most accommodating to make our stay pleasant. The only complaint I can honestly say we had was with the food. It wasn't that great, however you certainly wouldn't starve.
I would recommend the tour to Havana and the Tropicana show, absolutely a must see. Very educational and entertaining. Also the horse and carriage ride to Varedero. Our guide Wholio was just excellent and knowlegeable on the area and points of interest. Saw Al Capones place and a beautiful park as well as visiting the markets and a local open air bar. We also visited a shopping center that we found very expensive on our way to swim with the dolphins. "The dolphins" was also an excellent show and again the tour guide and Cuban people very warm and friendly.
