This year the hotel is managed by CUBACAN and No longer by an Italian company- The employees very happy and the customer too.Very clean- Good food but not 5 stars.
They try every day to show a different selection of dishes-Decoration and presentation of meals done by Daniel Santos Gonzalez who is doing a really incredible job-
The service is SUPERB- the entertainment is very good and there is something to do all day long- Very safe and secure-Every meal ( 3) last at least 3 hrs so you can go any time is convenient.
The staff goes out of their way to please you in any way they can...and trust me they go the extra mile in order to make you feel at home.
The price that we paid was very good...but even if we pay 50 % more...STILL a good deal.
YES ...they like tips...but if you take clothes used in good conditions is also well accepted.
At the beach you can use ( free) snorkers; cayaks;pedalos-and you can ride the Catamaran driven by one employee. The shows are at 9:30 PM everyday, mostly dancing.There is a Magician; Leonel ( they call him MAGO )who is really amazing.
Horses can be rented from locals at the front door or any employee can arrange them to meet you at the front door- 5 Convertible pesos will pay for the whole day going around but it will be shorter.. because your butt will not take it :-) :-).
Tour to Santiago de Cuba are easy to get at front desk @ 40 $ for the whole day or 25$ for 1/2 day.
The city is old and NOT in good shape...still a good experience to see something that will make you think and be grateful for what we have in Canada.
Going to the corals with snorklers and some bread or rice will be something you'll never forget...in 5 minutes you'll have more than 100 fishes of different colors and shapes swimming around you in a very safe 3 feet of water.
If you have kids you'll enjoy it even more.
Overall is a great place and the best value for your dollar.
We are very happy about the time we spent there.
