I and my husband have been going to this hotel since 2003 twice a year. The hotel itself is, in my opinion, very good but it is the Cuban people who make your holiday. We have made lots of friends there. Food is always a bit hit or miss but there is always something for everyone. Pools the size of lakes and the beaches are great. I would recommend that you take sterling cash if leaving from the uk. You can change this at the hotel. We always take gifts. I think its better for them but we do still tip for good service which we always get as they all know us now. You will also need 25 pesos to leave the country. My tip is make a Cuban friend (which won't be hard) and then they will meet up with you and show you the real Cuba and people who are so friendly. Try the local's food when out. We had turtle and it was lovely. All the trips are good but they are no longer doing the Jamaica trip. Dolphins are the best. Our friend took us to the oldest fishing village which was very nice. Having a meal looking out on to the harbour was great. Last time I was there was May 05. We are all going back on September 23rd so go and have a great time.
