Cayman Islands
Spanish Bay Reef Resort 7/11/00
Reviewers Rating: Great Spanish Bay is an all-inclusive resort. Its location might not be for everyone because it's not on 7-mile beach where on the "action" is. The service and food is not like a Hilton or something that ritzy but it is pretty darn close. The food is very plentiful and good. As far as the beach goes it's not like some of the beaches down on 7-mile where white sand is everywhere. This beach is a little more rocky and not as clear (water) as down the road. The best part of this resort, in my opinion, is its location. I want to be away from the "Vegas" hustle and bustle and this place gives that to me. This isn't to say you can't get where you want to go because you can. One nice feature is the resort has rental cars (jeeps) that you rent for 3-4 hour periods at 6 US dollar (per rental). P.S. you have to get a Cayman drivers license (really simple, show them your current state one). If you want they also have bicycles, not in the greatest conditions but whocares. Another plus is the staff. They are some of the nicest and friendliest people I have met on my trips to the Carribean. This place is very good if you are into scuba or just snorkling. They have their own boat to take divers out day and evening trips. Or you can just relax in their own lagoon and snorkle all day. One of the hardest things to do at this place is leave because as for me I just wanted to stay forever.
