Beach Club Colony 05/27/01

Upon arriving, my husband and I told the "limo" driver "No, we're staying at the Beach Club Colony". To our amazement, this was it!! It lacked the plush lobby and accomodation that we were use to. However, we tried to make the best of it. Our room was ocean front, on the second story, but was located just above the beach equiptment rental area. The A/C wasn't near cool enough and the room was in dire need of new furniture, carpet, bedding... heck, EVERYTHING!! The saving grace for this establishment was the extremely warm and helpful staff. The first night on the island, we strolled over to the Hyatt to have a drink. One bottle of beer and a glass of house red wine later, we put down $22 US. This convinced us to remain for the all-inclusive bar and food. Both were good, and included in the all-inclusive package. If you get a really good deal on a package, this is tolerable, but steer clear if you are planning a romantic or family vacation. Only the adventuresome souls that can over look the negative will fit in here.
