Hotel & Resort Reviews:
Cayman Islands
Cobalt Coast 11/24/01
Reviewers Rating: Excellent
On my first visit to the Cayman Islands I spent four nights at the Cobalt Coast resort. It's a small, intimate, but friendly and informal resort on the Northwest coast of the island. It's tucked away from the main tourist drag of Seven Mile beach, but it's only a 25 minute drive from the Capital of Georgetown. My room was actually a suite, with a living room - including refrigerator and sink - that looked out at the ocean and surf. There is a dive shop on site and a small bar and restaurant with good food and live entertainment on Friday night. Arie, the owner, is the quintessential charming host. He's there to greet you when you arrive, chat with you during your stay, and say goodbye when you leave. If you want to get away from the crowds and feel like you're staying at a friend's ocean-side villa, this is the place.
