Turtle Beach Villas 04/03/02
Reviewers Rating: Excellent
Stayed at TBV from March 14th through the 24th. The condo complex is very small, and quiet. The building itself is a little older, but the inside of our unit was beautiful. 1 bedroom, two baths, full kitchen, living room, and huge screened porch looking out at the ocean. All 23 units are oceanfront, and nicely priced as they are a little older. We rented directly from the owner, and got a great deal. I talked with people at the Marriot next door who were paying 3 times for a hotel room what we were for an oceanfront condo. The pool area was practically deserted everyday, so we took full advantage. The beach in front is a bit skinny, (maybe 12-15 feet). That was fine with us as TBV has a small roped off area of the beach, so there was plenty of room to lay out. It got a lot more crowded as you walked north in front of the Marriot who tried to jam two rows of beach chairs into that same 12 feet of beach...too crowded for us!! Once you got past the Marriot, it widened right out. TBV is centrally located, and close to several restaurants, bars, shopping, etc. TBV may not be a room at the Ritz, but they are beautifully furnished oceanfront condos that served us perfectly. We would go back in a heartbeat. The owner we dealt with was incredibly nice, and a totally stress-less pleasure to deal with. I have researched this island for several months since our 1st visit in 2000, and this is by far the best deal on the beach. If you are interested in renting directly from the owner, shoot me an email, and I'll forward you her info. And no, we are not related....I just really think she is as nice as can be, and takes great care of her renters.
