We arrived on Sunday evening after flying into Santo Domingo after the 90 minute car ride (we rented a car) we were welcomed by very friendly receptionist upon getting to our room we were dissappointed to find we were giving 2 full size beds not many queens or kings in hotel. That evenining we ate at the Bayahibe Buffet the food was ok but nothing great. Upon strolling the grounds we loved the scenery we tried to find a cup of Expresso but only place that had it was Michaleangelo's which you need to make reservations for between 8:00am and 11:30am. We went back to room unpacked and settled in for the night one word of caution the beds are on wheels and if you sit to read you will more than likely push yourself out from wall. Next morning we got up around 8:00 took shower small annoying ants on counter in bathroom water pressure in shower ok went to Bayahibe for breakfast again was ok for buffet. After breakfast we went to make reservations for Dinner and were told all restaurants were booked and we would have to eat at the buffet again. We then went and laid on beach have to admit plenty of available seating and a great beach, next try a dip in pool wow cold as ice water two minutes was about all I could stand, I read about the whirlpool being very hot figured give it a try maybe I misread or the heating system was off but was cold there too. Now off to lunch we tried the Soana for lunch dont eat chicken salad unless you like grizzle bones and skin in yours. Well afternoons scinse we had a car we would venture to little towns very pretty country side and friendly people, we wnt to the only modern plaza we could find which is only five minutes from resort tourist should patronize this place they are trying to bring some modernization to the area. Dinner was boring same as night before. Breakfast became the same way as did lunch blah. What a pain getting up at 7:00am while on vacation so you can make dinner reservations only to find out the restaurants aren't all they are cracked to be maybe they should try serving domestic foods instead of Chinese and Italian. If I was giving this place a star rating I would give it a 3 and only because they have great help.
