We were at this resort April 2000, and got treated so well, that we plan to return April, 2001. The staff was so friendly and accomodating. The variety of food and drink was tremendous, including a special "drink of the day", with or without alcohol. We enjoyed all the restaurants, and paid a supplement of $7.50 U.S. for the beach side BBQ on Friday night. It was well worth it. The resort area is large enough that it was never crowded. The grounds and rooms are kept very clean, and lots of clean towels. The animation staff keep things hopping all day long. You also have a private beach, and flags to let you know the water conditions..that can get rough, especially late afternoon. A free shuttle is provided - three times a day- to both Sosua (shopping), and Cabarete (windsurfing). The pool area is huge, with the "salt water river" that goes around the main pool and childrens pool. Lots of lounges provided. We never had to put our towel out early to "reserve" the space. Nighttime entertainment was a nice variety of drama, comedy, dance and audience participation. This is an older resort, but it is well kept, and maintained. But it's the staff that make it so special! We highly recommend it.
