We just returned from Villas Bavaro Beach. The idea here of individual units is great and the walking around throughout the resort is very nice.
However, the package is to include a/c, hair dryers, etc. Our room had no hair dryer, a/c didn't work for two days, no refrigerator, smelled mildewie, the shower was a hand-held device that sprayed everywhere. PLUS we had a sink full of ants for three days until someone showed up to spray.
Two in our party were sick at least 4 days. Others on the plane were sick also.
Lots of Germans and they did not seem to be that friendly. Couldn't even utter a response to good morning.
The food seemed to be the same day in and day out. We could find things to eat, but it pretty much came to be rather routine. Ended up eating hamburgers and pizza at the bar every afternoon.
You had to get up early to get pool chairs. They are limited.
Hard to find english-speaking personnel. It would have made it more interesting to be able to get local information. Maria at the guest deck was wonderful. The fellows at the pool bar were pretty good too.
All in all, would not go back to this particular spot.
