Best Western Metro Golf and Marina 06/26/01

Thought I would try another resort in Feb. of 2001 and this looked to be the most cost effective for the season. Unfortunately, while prices WERE very low so also was the calibre of the environment. Buffet meals offered little variety and quality. Many items were not labeled and guests had little idea what was being offered. If you wanted decaffinated coffee and asked you were simply told that it was unavailable. Other items as well that might have made me feel at home away from home were simply unavailable. Sleeping in any of the beach towers could be a grueling experience UNLESS you were a frequenter to the late night disco. I ended up stay ing at the executive tower across the road to avoid the music althoug I must admit the rooms were beautiful as was the panoramic view and all at now additional expense to myself. Music was loud, loud, loud... even during the afternoon sessions with no seating availble and a miniscule stage for the performers. Elements on the positive side would include a beautiful beach front and a wharf and marina. A raft moored out in deeper water provided a great place to sun in the afternoon. All in all I would have to give this place a somewhat less than ideal rating although if low cost accomodation is the most important part of your stay then this could be the place for you!
