Barcelo Beach Resort 08/03/01

I just returned from the Barcelo Beach Resort, I stayed at the Garden Hotel with my husband, 2 children and 5 other families, all with children. The resort is beatiful, the accomodations great, the food good and excellent depending on where you eat and your taste. Great variety. We stayed for 8 days, did all the watersport activities. Beaches are beautiful and clean, pools the same. We went on 2 excursions outside the hotel, The Bavaro Runners, which takes you inland and through the villages, very fun and safe. We also went on the Catamaran excursion, also very fun and exciting. These are addtional costs somewhere between $85 - $100 per adult and 1/2 price for children. Highly recommended!! I would consider the staff great, didn't need to much from anyone, but when we did need something it was handled very well. The staff that we dealt with were very friendly!! Brush up on your Spanish! If you don't you can still get by, some people speak English and some at least a little English! I would go back again.
