02/10/2001 - Just returned from a fantastic fortnight at the Iberostar Dominicana, a fabulous 5 star, yes five star all inclusive hotel. We had been told by friends and family that all inclusive didn't actually mean all inclusive, but they are wrong. Two slef serve buffet type restaurants with a massive selection of foods, hot and cold, steak, chicken, pork, many different types of fish, pastas, salads, fruit section, deserts etc.... There are also four speciality restaurants Mexican, Italian, Fish and a Steakhouse, you have to make reservations but the hotel guarantees you four. Bars serving all types of drinks, both branded and locally produced, wide ranges of cocktails, soft drinks, punches.. Plenty of daytime activities in and aroud the two immaculate pools, plenty to do on the beach, volleyball, horseriding, parascending, wind surfing, kayaking, snorkelling, scuba diving.. the beach was fantastic with 'flour' like sand so soft and white, sea was crystal clear and warm. The entertainment team were fantastic, always encouraging you to participate in the many events, different shows every night, plenty of variety, audience participation, competitiions, awards, diplomas etc.. All the staff from the gardeners who kept the grounds spotless, to the waitressess bringing your drinks, the bar staff, the chamber maids in fact just about every single person....was so polite and friendly. The room was spacious, very comfortable, clean, two double beds, mini bar stocked daily, lovely bathroom.... I really cannot express how much, how fantastic this place is.
