Hotel & Resort Reviews:
Dominican Republic
Iberostar Punta Cana 11/15/01
Reviewers Rating: Excellent
My wife, our two teenagers and I spent a week here in late March 2001. The Hotel is a twin of, and shares facilities with, the Iberostar Dominicana. The beach is beautiful, with palm trees and many palapas for shelter. You can walk for miles in either direction. Soft sand and warm, generally clear water, but this is the Atlantic, not the Carribean. Two large pools, also with many lounges and shelters. Rooms are spacious and attractive, with cable TV and mini-frig. There are two large buffet restaurants, four speciality restaurants (reservations can be difficult to obtain) and two grills on the beach for lunch. Food is excellent, with a great deal of variety. Entertainment is only fair in the evenings, but there is a diverse group of activities all day. Hobie cats, kayaks and wind surfers are included. Staff is attentive and tries hard to accomodate, but a little Spanish and a few tips help.(Review originally submitted on April 3, 2001)
