I have read many very positive reviews of this hotel and resort and in general the accomodation and staff were excellent. The same however could not be said of the food. The exotic fruits and bread were good but the buffet in general was extremely bland and samey. By the end of our holiday we were eating out at every opportunity and ironically despite reassurances the only time we both had settled stomachs was after two days eating the local food off site.Beware also that if you are not a football shirted, kareoke singing, bingo playing Billy Britain then the entertainments may fall short of expectations. That said if you are a bit more independant its a cheap way to get to a warm and beautiful part of the world and good base from which to explore the vibrant culture of the Dominican Republic. Whatever you do do escape the resort independantly the transport is cheap, the locals are friendly and the food is excellent especially the lobster.
