LTI Sol De Plata Hotel 01/09/02

We visited this resort for the Millennium. We found it to be a below average on the whole. Rooms were pretty horrible with peeling paint and large areas of chipped enamel in the baths, for example,and several of the people on the holiday I was on, within the subset of those I knew, asked to change rooms because they were so unhappy. Even the new rooms weren't much improvement. Food wasn't too bad - especially the nightly grills at the beach restaurant. Three speciality restaurants, Gourmet, Italian and Chinese were only so so, and you have to be up very early in the morning to get your name on the reservation list. Beach itself was good. Resort is somewhat isolated so you are restricted really to the in-house entertainment nightly which it must be said is not of a very high standard. Don't miss available day trips - we went on two - the Catamaran and the Monster Trucks.....both very enjoyable.Staff were friendly, but after this I don't think I would willingly visit an LTI Hotel again.
