The food was amazing,I'm surprised I didn't gain 20 pounds! The people who work at the resort were very friendly and helpful. We ventured into town on a shopping tour to Puerta Plata and Sosua, what an experience. We bartered with the locals for souvenirs, some were just trying to make a living. Others were very pushy and almost frightening.I recommend taking a taxi from the hotel into Puerta Plata, let the cabbie take you shopping.The Amber Mine is an interesting place and very good prices on jewelry too!I would highly suggest a vacation at this resort, it is definitely worth the money. The beach at the RIU Bacchata next door is wonderful and also has some local people selling souvenirs.You get free reign to visit the other 2 resorts and the scenery is lovely!
