Hotel & Resort Reviews:
Dominican Republic
Casa Marina Beach Resort 06/03/02
Reviewers Rating: Good
Actually 2.5 Stars: There were two particularly impressive parts of our trip to Casa Marina Beach Hotel, Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. It was all-inclusive and was a real overall bargain. It was also necessary for us to repeat these attractive themes to ourselves in order to really enjoy our stay. All-inclusive, apparently does not take into account a tv remote, room alarm clock (or any timing devise), or toiletries (not even a soap bar). You can, however, conveniently purchase these items at the hotel’s store. Warning: supply is short, prices are high. All drinks are included and are quite good. I would personally recommend the “Banana Mama” with banana liquor, rum, and strawberry slush. I would also suggest you bring your own lunch or eat a heavy breakfast and early dinner each day. I myself was craving the airlines lunch on our departure. Yes, mysterious plane lunches are superior to that offered at Casa Marina Beach Hotel. Do feast and enjoy a hearty breakfast and wonderful dinners at the 3 specialty restaurants, all are very good! Although, accommodations are simple, our room was clean and the A/C worked well. Most of our time was spent either at the beach or at one of the three nice pool areas. The pool and beach areas are equipped with a nearby bar, lots of comfortable chairs, and even some cheap entertainment. Hope you delight in relaxing at the hotel because there is nothing to offer outside of it. Best wishes on your adventures!
