Coral Hamaca All Inclusive- Boca Chica 06/09/02

I visited in December of 2001 and hated it. Although the room was nice and the beach definitely beautiful everything else needed help. There was plenty of food to choose from but it all tasted terrible. The best food was at the beach grill in the afternoon which had pizzas, burgers and occasionally chicken or sausage. The service was not up to par either.on the second day there we requested a wake up call which never came. My husband's family lives nearby and they called several times. Too bad we never recieved the messages. Using the phone was a problem as the lines weren't always working. And forget about calling the front desk for anything. It will never get to your room. On day the maid didn't even come. I complained to the manager several times and only was helped after I told them I was a writer and would write one hell of a story on their resort. I'm only a songwriter but after that service seemed to improve somewhat. The waitstaff in the restaurants are snotty as well. I had an argument with the waiter and manager at the Italian place. As I said, the beach is beautiful and the hotel is conveniently located if you want to visit Santo Domingo as we did however I do not recommend this hotel. You will find better food, service and accomadations a little farther as the island is full of resorts. Also be careful of the locals. They will try to scheme you out of money every chance they get. The airport clerk tried to swindle $150 from me. i had him reported as well.
