LTI sol De Plata 06/19/02

We went to the LTI Sol De Plata resort over Xmas and New Year. The reviews I had read before we left were not all that good. When we arrived in the caribbean it was raining. We got in our bus and after waiting for about 3/4 of an hour the bus finally began to move. We were the 3rd stop to be let out, and the 2 hotels we saw before we got to ours, made us just look at each other and we wanted to cry. they were really run down. BUT we arrived at our hotel, drove through the big steel gates and drove town the hill, were we leaped out of the bus and could not believe our eyes. The weather was really hot and sticky as it had been raining. We were greeted with cocktails, our bags were taken to our rooms. We had a quick tour through the resort. There wasn't much going on except for a few kids in the pool as it was raining. The little appartments were our room was, were really nice. We looked out of our balcony door and saw the sea and the pool. It was great. The pools are massive, I didn't go into the sea as it was a bit rough. The food was really nice. They made a lot of effort. Everyone was really happy when they served sausage and chips!! There are I think 2 bars where they serve drinks all day, a libary, you can go horse riding and the entertainment is brilliant. anyone who wants to get away from it all should go here. I would go back, the people you meet there are really nice too. The only thing was when it rained IT RAINED!! and there wasn't much to do then. I would go back tomorrow!! It was really excellent!! am trying to get away for a week to another LTI hotel in Spain...
