Dont listen to the bad reviews of this resort it is great.
Only minor miniscule things that you can decide if you want it to ruin your vacation or not.
Staff seemed unhappy, at beach, and caribe resorts we found the best service and staff at the casino and golf bars. Best was Gerson at the casino pool bar.
Otherwise the beach is amazing you can walk in either direction forever, there are no rocks in the water and they try to clean the beach daily
The buffet seemed to have more selection at the beach hotel, but the pool is nicer at the caribe(used to be called garden) A la cartes mexican, italian and steakhouse were all great we like the steakhouse the best not sure why others complained about it?? have the ribeye tastes jsut as good as at home.
Rooms are standard, nice to have a mini bar stocked with 2 presidente beers, bottles of coke etc and water daily and nice to have a coffe maker.
One note is if you walk down the beach past the palace hotel there is a little market also if you walk a little further there is a uy who offers camel rides.
Overall you cant go wrong with a barcelo nice beach, nice pool, standard but still nice rooms, huge place with lots of bars, casino, disco, restaurants what more can you ask for??
