El Portillo Beach Resort is an excellent hotel for people who are looking for a quiet and relaxing holiday. The people are very friendly and they help you whenever they can. The rooms are good, the cabanas are great!! The rooms and cabanas are situated in a beautiful garden and near to the beach under the palmtrees. The restaurants (buffet and a-la-carte) are very good. The food is realy delicious! The beaches are as beautiful as a postcard; you can not believe that it is real. You can walk for miles along the shore without seeing anybody. The hotel has also an animation-staff. They organize things like: darts, ping-pong, jeu-de-boules, beachvolley, horse riding, aerobics, stretching (also in the water), merengue lessons and a lot more. You can also play tennis, windsurfing, sailing with a catamaran and there is a scuba diving centre. Every evening there is a different show at 9.30 pm. The shows are excellent too, especialy for such a young team! I have been there twice and I will go there more often, that's for sure! Tip: Do not forget to make a jeep safari around Samana. You realy have to see this!
