Barcelo Bavaro Palace Resort All-Inclusive

Stayed Nov 6-13 2004. Check in quick, 1st room had 2 beds, got switched OK to other with King. Rooms about 20 yr old. Frayed edges on bed covers, wicker furniture and old style bath. Cleaned daily but extra towels and restock of mini-bar was hit & miss even with tips and notes. Grounds, pool area beautiful and well maintained. Beach is fantastic. Found service in restaurants and bars poor, difficult to get 2nd cup coffee or drink. Food, while good, variety was poor quality. Any beef was very tough. A-la-carte portions small. Also 2 restaurants no longer included in ALL-INCL. Lower hotel's guests (Beach/Caribe) were NOT stopped from coming to Palace restaurants. Shopping on site VERY expensive. Go to flea market just off property. Daily actiities and night entertainment pretty good. Beach/pool chairs get "reserved" real early.
