Hotel Samsara 7/22/00

I visited the Samsara in July of 2000 with a group of friends for a wedding. This is definitely a hotel for you if you are on a budget and don't expect the ammenities you would get at a more expensive hotel. The rooms are adequate, but no tv,phone or clock. Make sure you ask for an air conditioned room if that is a necessity for you. They offer a/c rooms and non-a/c accomodations. We went on the all inclusive plan, and I will have to admit the food was pretty good, nothing fancy but good, and at designated times, not 24 hrs. Drinks were available from 10 - 10 but only domestic liquor, which was ok with me. One bar and one dining area both open air with no a/c. The pool area was decent with a great view of the cliff area. There is a free shuttle to the sister hotel, Legends, on the beach if you crave the sand. But all in all you have the same access to Negril as everyone else, so if you want to save some money on your trip to Jamaica and don't need all the bells and whistles to go with it, this is a decent place to stay if you are on a budget.
