The Rooms- The clean standard rooms are average. Maid service was consistent.Ocean and mountain views are lovely. Spa and gym are fabulous. A big reason to visit.
Entertainment- The huge Sumfest 2000 Reggae concert was going on all week about a mile from the hotel. The hotel also provided minor entertainment nightly on the stage near the beach bar.Slots, disco, miniature golf available.
The Beach is small but ok- Not the prettiest we've seen.Water is dark blue green. Murky for snorkling.
Food- We liked the Bananawalk buffet they need air conditioning.They needed more soda fountains and juice stations. Food included many Carribean specialities Lots of variety. We liked the food very much. Alacarte Italian restaurant was excellent. Water is drinkable. We had no illness.
Why isn't this resort a six star? - No air conditioning in elevators, halls, lobby and buffet. Only the rooms, spa, and ala carte restaurants have air. This hotel needs mini bars in the rooms. Buffet service isn't there. You will fetch your own table, silverware, drinks etc. Liquor is not brand name and watered down. No large stage show entertainment. Aside from that this is a nice resort. We were able to contend with the deficiencies and we had a super time. The natives were friendly and we can truly say that we did Jamaica. If you have questions, just email me at Anyonebut@aol.com.
