My fiance and myself had let our travel agent pick the most wonderful spot for us to tie the knot. We were looking for something warm and romantic. Being from new york our octobers are not that warm. We arrived by air jamaica - big mistake. The flight attendant there my wedding dress into a closet - she didn't even hang it up - i had to put down my carry on luggage and properly put my expensive dress into the tiny closet. By the time we arrived in jamaica my dress was on the floor of the closet with her putting other passangers items into the closet. When i got my dress the garment bag was ripped and i was upset that there was a chance then that my dress was ripped or dirty. The attendant in the front of the plane said "don't worry it will be fine" i was so upset. The dress wasn't ripped but did get a little dirty.
Arrived at the hotel ok. We arrived around noon and our room wasn't ready till around 2pm. Very warm sitting around in warm clothes. The room was very tiny ! - We had got a room with a balcony thank god so we had the little extra space. We used the balcony to put our wet swim gear on it. We had a few episodes with ants. Saw the staff with insect spray on a few occasions. We were on the 4th floor and never had hot water in the shower. We both actually came home with a sore throat and colds. The pool is small but my new husband did love playing pool volleyball everyday.
The food was ok but we are really picky. Our wedding - the minister was very rude. We had meet with him the day we arrived and had seemed really nice but was rude to us on the day of our wedding and it is visualized in our wedding video. The wedding coordinator was also very short with me when i asked questions before arriving in jamacia. I had called her numerous times and left messages and she would never call me back. We spent over $150 in phone calls just to her. Our wedding pictures are beautiful. The photographer did an excellent job.
The nightly entertainment was
boring. Few participated in the events. The band at dinner was boring too. crazy carter and alanna were our favorite staff members. The beach is public and not the best. Enjoyed laying by the pool the best. Frozen drinks were great. Oh and i could never forget the girls in the beauty shop - they did my hair for the wedding - they were very quick and did an excellent job.
I also had a bad experience with sunburn and blistering - the girls in the beauty shop put aleo on me everyday to help heal. They were a life saver. My husband and i have never gone away like this before. We had a good time but realize there are better resorts out there and wish we would have gone else where. Sandals or something. A lot of people were uspet with the resort - said the have been to better.
