Sandals Montego Bay 01/20/01

On the day before we are flying off to Sandals Royal Caribbean, I thought I'd leave a note about Sandals Montego Bay, where we stayed last year.

We found the resort great, albeit for a younger than we are, crowd (we're 46). The beach was fabulous, clean, with plenty of room to spread out. The water beautiful azure color and about 80 degrees (no waves). The airplane noise from the next door airport was only bothersome for about an hour and then one gets used to it. The food was good, (not fantastic) and breakfast had plenty of variety. Drinks were strong, not the rumored weak variety. Staff for the most part were friendly and helpful, with a few exceptions. The room (grand luxe beachfront) was adequate, although not luxurious and needed new carpeting (stains), but was clean and was truly beachfront, with a mango tree in our "front yard".

We stayed for a week and wished it was two. Enjoy!!
