Breezes Runaway Bay 06/18/01
Reviewers Rating: Good
This was our family's first visit to Jamaica, and I don't think we made the best choice. The resort is small, but they try to pack in a lot of activities. This would be good, except the activities scheduled do not always happen on time, or sometimes not at all. There is really only one swimming pool, with the majority of it over 9'. There are no waitresses to serve you drinks around the pool or the beach. The Golf caddies took the fun out of the game, my cousins was very rude when he tipped him. And oh yes, everybody wants to be tipped. The staff (especially the male bartenders) flirted with the single women and even danced with them at the disco. The two bright points of the resort is the SCUBA training and Martino's restaurant. Both Excellent. We went SCUBA diving 3 times and ate at Martino's 4 times. The resort is an old property so don't expect much of the rooms. We had 10 people in our group and only 1 room had a sufficient air conditioner. We only encountered one bartender (I think her name was Zoy) that seemed to care if we liked our drink and if we were having a good time. Probably would not visit this resort again. Coming from the airport, the Ritz Carlton and Wyndham Rose Hall both looked like nice properties with fantastic golf courses.
