Very, very laid back ... which was exactly what my husband and I wanted on our honeymoon. Negril's beach can get rather crowded with tourists and hustlers and Whistling Bird was a wonderful retreat. Only problem was that the staff was so laid back, we often felt that we were inconviencing them by being there. I'd recommend staying there, but skip the meal and drink plan ... it's overpriced and there's much better food up and down the beach. The bungalows are set back from the beach, which can mean lots of nasty mosquitos, so bring coils, repelants and the like. We may stay there again, but only for a night or two so we can stay on the beach. We loved the west end of Negril much more with its cliffs and coral reefs.
