Riu Tropical Bay 10/10/01

My husband and I have just returned from a weeks holiday in the Riu Tropical Bay Hotel in Negril. The rooms were fantastic with individually controlled air conditioning, mini bar and fridge full of drinks. Everyday the room maid would leave a towel display in your room with a flower on it which was really special. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times without fail. There were 4 restaurants which offered a superb range of foods and you were spoilt for choice everyday which was especially nice for me as I have a few foods which I am unable to eat but I was not left hungry. The pool and beach were very nice and there were plenty of sunbeds to go round which is something I have not experienced before!. The only downside would be to mention that some of the vendors who sold their services/items could be a little rude if you did not do as they asked but the percentage of such comments was overwhelmed by the rest of the hotel and its facilities. There was a threat of a hurricane while we were there and all the staff were really cool and helpful saying it wouldn't happen - and it didn't in the end. Also if possible I would advise you take the internal flight from Montego Bay airport to Negril airport as it is cheap and only takes half an hour as opposed to 2 hours on the coach. If you are looking for paradise then you will find it here, I cannot wait to return when I will go for at least two weeks next time.
