Sandals Inn 11/15/01
Reviewers Rating: Great
First, the good stuff: ---------------------- By staying at the Sandals Inn, you have access to the other two Sandals (Montego Bay and Royal Caribbean), so if you are willing to get on the shuttle bus with your backpack, you can hang out at a pretty exclusive beach and enjoy some really good food. The Sandals line of resorts offer an amazing selection of food, watersports and activities which far exceed other resorts. We have never eaten so well at an all-inclusive as we did at Sandals. The bad stuff: -------------- Although the Sandals Inn staff is really nice, the location is horrible. The only beach access is a tiny public beach across the street from the hotel where the locals show up at around 6 am every day. Less than a block away from the hotel is the Disco which sports the sign "No Drugs, No Weapons, No Violence... One Love" which goes till about 2 am. The locals seem to think that the road right in front of the hotel is a drag strip. If you book at the Sandals Inn, book at least another two days vacation to spend at home catching up on your sleep. The bottom line: ---------------- If you can get a good last-minute deal, this gives you an reasonably priced opportunity to experience the Sandals line of resorts, which is definitely a class above other all-inclusives. But if you're buying at the regular brochure price, just spend the extra couple hundred dollars to go to one of the "real" Sandals (we visited Negril, Montego Bay, Royal Carribean; they all look pretty nice and quiet).
