Sandals Ocho Rios 11/15/01

My husband and I just returned from this resort where we spent 7 wonderful nights. The property is lush with a lot of flowers and trees. It is more intimate than its sister resort, Sandals Dunns River. The rooms are clean, along the lines of a Holiday Inn. I recommend an ocean view. The staff were very friendly, although sometimes moving at Jamaican speed. The restaurants offer a lot of variety. I recommend the stuffed filet at Valentinos for an elegant meal and dinner at Arizona on the pier at sunset (around 6:30 in April). The beach was white and clean, although it could have been bigger. There are three pools and two hot tubs, one of which is very secluded. We were never bored in the evenings. The piano bar is great, not to mention beautifully decorated. Check out the terrace attached to the piano bar. There's a disco open every night until very late. We took the free trip to Dunns River Falls--exhilirating but not for the faint of heart! This is a great place to go to relax all day and play at night. (Review originally submitted on April 21, 2001)
