Sunset Beach Resort & Sap 11/20/01

My husband and I along with another couple just returned from Jamaica. We stayed at the Sunset Beach Resort from November 8 - 15/01 and found it to be a wonderful resort. We arrived from Canada on a balmy Thursday afternoon, walked into the open air lobby and were immediately met (after checking in) by a staff member carrying a tray of drinks! The view from our room (bay and ocean view, Tower A) was breathtaking. We found the room to be extremely functional, very clean and the housekeeping staff were efficient and very friendly. The restaurants were also very good. The Chinese restaurant was very good (especially the soups and appetizers). The Italian restaurant was very romantic and the food was too incredible to describe! The buffet restaurant was by far the best. The omelettes in the morning were superb. The array of dishes for both lunch and dinner was amazing. The menus changed constantly so you never had to eat the same thing twice! The pools and bars were great as well, especially the swim up bar! The guys made fast friends with several of the bartenders and as a result, we never waited for service! But definitely bring along a large mug or buy a freezer mug at the Freeport Market (2 for $12) as the drink cups they provide are way too small for our liking!! Besides, it cuts down on the number of trips to the bar! We would definitely recommend this resort to anyone. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, you can't ask for a more relaxing vacation. And the side trips (shopping, Dunn's River Falls, etc.) are all quickly and efficiently arranged for you. We would go back in a second! Lisa Fletcher
