Club Caribbean 03/03/02
Reviewers Rating: Great
My boyfriend and I stayed @ Club Caribbean last June and it was one of the best holidays we've had. It is fairly basic @ CC so do not go expecting luxury. The cottages are rustic and very nice and I would recommend upgrading so that you get one right on the beach. We stayed in an apartment block which was not very nice. In fact I was very disappointed when I first saw it and wished that we had booked a cottage. However, the room did not spoil our holiday - we spent so little time in our room anyway. Two good things I will say about our room are that it had excellent airconditioning and huge shower big enough for two !! The staff @ CC are lovely - very helpful and very funny. We had lots of games of cricket & football (staff vs guests) and they went out of their way to entertain us. There was entertainment every night and we did lots of dancing in the mooonlight. The Beach BBQ once a week is really good with a huge bonfire and lots of cocktails. If you want a quiet time, go to the Lease on Life restaurant and bar at the far end of the beach with tables & candles right on the shore - very romantic. We met up with some lovely people, most of whom we have stayed in contact with and met up with since (the first year we have followed this up). Because it is so small @ CC - only 2 restaurants & 2 bars, one on the beach, it is very friendly. The food is all buffet style and their is loads to chose from - mostly Jamaican and all delicious. There is a scuba school on the site and we did some diving, the Dunns River trip via catamaran was excellent. We took the trip to Negril and it was a long uncomfortable journey, as they have not finished building the roads. However, after cliff diving @ Ricks Cafe we thought it was well worth it. In summary - if you are looking for an inexpensive, unpretentious holiday - you will like Club Caribbean.
