Grand Lido Negril 05/11/02

Lot of hype..

We have just returned from 5 nights at the Grand Lido Negril and feel like we were taken advantage. Trip began with an arrival and room not ready and the suggestion from the check in people that we change in the lobby bathroom--all for $500/nite. It didn't get much better. We had 4 rooms in 5 nights, problem being either lack of water or lack of air. Probably the most difficult part of this to fathom was the repeated failings of the management to follow through. One day we called 4 times to report no water and the fourth time we were asked to describe the problem....AGAIN. Trip ended with mgmt begging us for another chance at dinner Monday night , details to be worked out Tuesday prior to check out only to find that mgmt took Tuesday off. Enuff said. You couldn't pay us to go back there. I think the stars on the wall in the lobby are a testament to the past, certainly nothing to do with the present or the future.
